The Classes English lessons are designed to establish a solid foundation for primary students. Strong focus is placed on writing, such as structural organization, context and the correct use of grammar and sentence structures. Interesting reading comprehensions are used to expand students’ vocabulary base and enhance their detailed reading ability. Compared with purely correct answers, we pay more attention to how students use knowledge to improve their thinking skills in order to become knowledgeable independent thinkers.
STAGE 1 - KNOWLEDGE & KNOW-HOW
Year 7 – 8
1 on 1: $720 / hour
Most students start with duplicating what the teacher taught them. We broaden their knowledge horizon and guide them to form their own interpretations and express their ideas using different techniques to develop a strong conceptual view of what they have learned. Students will be guided to a wealth of thinking skills and would learn how to apply them in various formats of writing and genres of reading. Knowledge and how-tos are developed simultaneously in these 2 years.
STAGE 2 - ANALYZE & APPLY

Year 9 – 11 (Pre-IGCSE & IGCSE)
$820 / hour
Building on the concepts of knowledge and know-how, students are stretched to apply what they have learned to their IGCSE papers, combining their techniques with thinking skills to make a difference in their analyses. They will learn to recognize the implications in readings, the rhetorical devices writers use for effects and become ready to excel in their IGCSE exams, at the same time developing an analytical mind that’s ready for IB higher requirements.

Year 12 – 13 (IBDP)
Employing multiple layers of thinking skills, students will appraise the different techniques of writers and the complex messages writers present in IB papers. By now experienced in critical analysis, students will to be perspicacious in evaluating different texts and can skilfully justify their commentaries based on detailed analysis, which would ensure them a high grade in English and mature thinking skills that propels them to excel in university and beyond.
