Our English classes aims to teach students the skills to influence. In Reading, they learn to recognize what writers do to influence them. In writing, they learn techniques to impact their readers. In speaking, they learn rhetoric that wins the debate, methods that gain trust in presentations, and the composure that impresses their college interviewers. High grades become a natural byproduct to their minds' clarity, purpose and thinking skills.
Our English Methodology
Our all-round English classes are designed to improve students' English proficiency, broaden their vision of the world and flourish their minds with excellent thinking skills.
Building a Gifted Future with English
English in the 21st century has become all the more important in escalating students' overall knowledge and ability to become gifted students. Every secondary school diploma examination, regardless of DSE or IB , assesses students’ use of thinking skills and strategies to solve various social problems. As such, our English classes consist of 3 parts.
1. World View

2. Hard Strategies

3. Soft Strategies
The first step of our English classes starts with broadening students' world view to enhance the spectrum of knowledge they can utilize. Then come hard strategies such as tactics on using various text types, structures and techniques. The third step is to elevate their soft strategies, which are their thinking capabilities to apply their world view and hard strategies. When students are equipped with these 3 capabilities, we appropriately name them as gifted with their competence and high intellect equipped for the 21st century.
